This is not a book I would ever pick up. I barely have an interest in watching sports and have NO interest in reading about a sport, much less about rowing! It was a book club pick, and when I was told about it, I thought: No way will I read this.
And then I forced myself to pick it up.
This book is a true story and is the most beautifully written book I've ever read. It's so much more than a book about rowing. Who knew rowing was such an intense and difficult sport?
This is a story of inspiration and triumph, of family and friendship, of endurance and character. Your heart will break and it will soar. I highly recommend it, and don't pass up reading the epilogue!
