Janet Cleaveland

Janet Cleaveland wanted to be a reporter when she was 9 years old, but got sidetracked and studied medieval and Renaissance literature. Then she got sidetracked again and went to work for The Columbian and later The Oregonian, retiring in 2009. Too much time at home led to “Small Plates,” her food blog on The Columbian’s website, and later a food column for Northwest Catholic magazine.
