A former daily newspaper copy editor, reporter, reviewer and food/style columnist for 30 years, Angela Allen loves to lie on the couch and read, or get up and play tennis, or imagine the next herb she will plant. She received a National Endowment for the Arts-Columbia University School of Journalism Fellowship to study music in 2005, and since then, has worked as a freelancer who never looked back, primarily writing about the arts, mostly music, and mostly for Oregon ArtsWatch, an online arts magazine. She is a published poet and photographer and lives in Portland with her scientist husband Jan van Santen, Zinnia the Cat, and her unwieldy garden. Her web site is angelaallenwrites.com
